What is a Design Lab?

A design lab is a facilitated experience where community members, leaders, and stakeholders come together to design localized solutions and actions for local challenges.

Do I need to know anything about social well-being and community development?

No! Your ideas and experience are more than enough to generate ideas and actions. We will make sure that everyone has the information needed to help participate to their full potential.

    What is community well-being?

Community well-being can seem complicated, but it does not need to be – Community well-being means that everyone can feel safe, connected, supported, and able to thrive together where they live, work, and play.

    Why me?
As a valued community member and stakeholder in Morinville, your thoughts, ideas, suggestions, and brilliance are needed! In a design lab, all ideas are good ideas, and we build from that foundation – the more we bring ideas, even the most bold and audacious ones forward, the better solutions we can create together. You bring something special to this conversation, and your ideas are needed.

Should I complete the Survey and attend the Design Lab?

Yes please! Insights we gather from the survey will directly inform the Design Labs, so please consider doing both! We would love to have as many people fill the survey and participate in the Design Labs as possible to make certain the community is heard!

    What's for dinner?

We’re still finalizing the menu with our caterer, but you can look forward to a delicious, family-friendly meal to enjoy!

I’d like to attend the Community Dinner but I have dietary restrictions; can they be accommodated?

We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions when notified in advance. Please make sure to include any allergies or special requirements when you register so we can share them with our caterer.
