MyMorinville Municipal Development Plan
Draft Community Direction Statement, Expectations and Priorities
The draft Community Direction Statement, Expectations and Priorities for the Municipal Development Plan have been created based on the results of the first two phases of the engagement program, and through ongoing dialogue with Mayor and Council.
The Community Direction statement defines our aspirations and is based on our values.
Community Expectations communicate our desires.
Community Priorities are the goals we aim for.
The DRAFT Community Direction Statement is:
Morinville is a community where thoughtful growth and intentional development honour our rich heritage while paving the way for a vibrant future. At the heart of our downtown, where quality design meets the pulses of our neighbourhoods, we foster connected communities that offer excitement, diverse housing, and prosperous business opportunities.
We are committed to creating a place where everyone can enjoy a healthy, thriving life, supported by local job opportunities and accessible public spaces. Morinville is a place where each person feels connected to one another, empowered, and proud to call home, now and for generations to come.
The Community Expectations stem from the community and reflect our collective aspirations for Morinville. These are intended to be community centric, personal and help guide the overall direction of the MDP.
To achieve Community Expectations, we must advance MDP priorities and Future Initiatives.
Community Priorities are the primary goals or objectives of the MDP. They will guide the creation of the plan's policies that meet and implement the priorities. Plan Initiatives are future directions of the MDP. They will help to achieve the overarching Community Direction Statement, Expectations and Priorities outside of the plan's policy framework.
